Book Review....The solar house by Daniel D Chiras

By Oliver Banks

‘The solar house’ by Daniel D Chiras, approaches how natural conditioning can provide comfort throughout the year by reducing, or eliminating, the need for fossil fuel. It shows how heat from sunlight can both reduce heat bills in the long run and warm up your house. The book definitely is a worthwhile read for any homeowner. Interested in solar power

In ‘The Solar House,’ Daniel D Chiras sets the record straight on the vast potential for solar panel powered heating. He acknowledges the good intentions of ill-advised solar designers in the past. He highlights certain errors and shows how to avoid them. More importantly, Chiras also explains in logical terms how today’s homebuilders can succeed with solar designs.

The book is divided into eight chapters, starting with the 'Fundamentals of Integrated Passive Design' making it easy for novice readers to stay in their comfort zone while offering plenty of more complex terminology for those readers who've had some experience in dealing with solar energy.

Overall, the book is both intriguing and informative.
I would recommend this book to any homeowner looking to improve their household, and is a very worthwhile read considering it is just £20.00 from most retail or online stores.
